About The Nursery

Set in a wooded part of the University of South Wales, Acorns USW provides the highest quality of care to children of the local community and staff and learners at the university.

The nursery is in a unique, purpose built nursery, our children benefit from our large forest school, providing plenty of opportunities and experiences to give every child the very best start in life.

WHAT OUR PARENTS SAY

My son has been at Acorns USW for 6 months, he settled in so well at the nursery all thanks to the amazing staff who are so caring and helpful. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they have done for me and my son and how much they have built his confidence and development. USW is such a welcoming nursery and makes you feel so comfortable and heard.

My daughter has recently started at Acorns USW and the staff made the whole process as painless as possible, they ensured they had all the information they needed about my little girl to make her day as home from home as possible. My daughter has many dietary requirements and the colour-coded plate system have put my mind at ease. The outdoor facilities are fantastic and I’m very sure I chose the perfect setting for us! Thank you for the wonderful care you give to all the children in your care.

Acorns USW have been fantastic from the first time we met them. They welcomed our son in with open arms and instantly put us, as parents, at ease! Our son started aged 2 years and 11 months so it’s a tricky age to settle. Especially given he has some delays with his speech and language. The staff here have got to know him and work with him every day to help his communication and speech come along. He also has a number of food allergies and is fussy with his food. The staff and chef have gone above and beyond to try and find meals for him to cater to his needs but also foods that he’ll try! Our son didn’t settle well at a previous childcare setting and we had so many worries with him starting here. But now, our only regret is that we didn’t put him at Acorns USW from day 1! It’s no surprise why he loves it so much when you see how wonderful the staff members are, how amazing the facilities are and the lengths that staff go to to help the children settle. We cannot thank them enough!

Home away from home for my daughter. The staff are amazing, friendly, caring, and handing over my daughter to them puts me at ease knowing she is cared for and made to feel at home. I love seeing my daughter's knowledge, understanding and manners progress every day thanks to her days spent at USW Acorns. Watching her run into the arms of the staff in the morning is confirmation enough for me that this nursery excels beyond all standards. Thank you to the whole team at USW Acorns.

Acorns at USW Treforest is an outstanding nursery. My daughter has been attending for over three years. Despite moving further away from the nursery and no longer travelling in the direction of Acorns at USW Treforest for work, I have decided to keep my daughter here as this nursery excels in every aspect. My daughter is always more than happy to go into nursery, even asking if she can stay when I pick her up after a full day! The staff are so friendly, helpful. My daughter has learnt invaluable skills during her time here, my daughter is constantly learning new things with the monthly themes and is always so enthusiastic about the topics with so much to tell me after her day at nursery. The management, along with all staff members are always so helpful and supportive. Acorns at USW Treforest has an excellent ethos and my daughter and I will be very sad to leave once she starts school. I could not have asked for a better environment for my daughter to be looked after and grown up in during her first years of life.
