A custom built workplace nursery located in the Aviva building in Stoke Gifford, Bristol, this 33 place nursery provides on site childcare for the employees of this large insurance chain.

A contemporary building, modern, light and airy and filled with the finest toys and purpose made equipment, designed to entertain and stimulate tiny minds. The popularity and reputation of this nursery is reflected in its extensive waiting lists.

Natalie the Nursery Manager and Sian her assistant welcome you at the beginning and end of each day.  Staff organise ‘Stay and Play Days’ where parents can see how their little one enjoys their day at nursery, as well as Graduation Ceremonies and Christmas Concerts. We also have twice yearly Parents Evenings where parents can see their child’s assessments, chat to Key Carers and other Mums and Dads and take part in family fun time in nursery.

Our Early Years Teacher visits the nursery several times each week and the children proudly display their work for all to see.

In the baby room everyone enjoy cuddles, stories, singing and fun between the busy rounds of bottles, feeding and nap times. The Toddlers have fun in group time, freeflow and outside splashing around whatever the weather!

Food

At Acorns we know the importance of healthy minds and healthy bodies and how vital it is for children to eat the right foods for growth and development.   We also know that if children eat well in their early years they go on to make healthy choices throughout their lives.

We believe  in providing home cooked, delicious meals every day and encourage the children to take a healthy interest in food.  Each nursery has a vegetable planter where the children sow seeds for peppers, courgettes, beans, potatoes, strawberries and more, these are then harvested and used by our Cooks in nursery meals.

Our Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer menus and are always packed with new ideas and seasonal fruit and vegetables.  The children enjoy breakfast, a 2 course lunch, high tea and a 5 o’clock snack.  All of our nurseries hold Gold Healthy Eating Snack Awards.   For babies and little ones we provide a puree and mash menu to ensure your child is enjoying foods for the correct stage of their development, older children are encouraged to self serve at the table to allow independence.

Our Nursery Nurses sit with the children at each meal to encourage and assist them at mealtimes, this promotes good table manners and social skills.

Cooking activities are a popular part of nursery life, and the children love to take part in food tasting sessions.    We celebrate different cultures and festival at Acorns and enjoy learning about and discovering foods from all over the world.

Acorns Nurseries are now providers of the Childcare Offer in Wales for eligible working parents of 3-4 year olds. Parents can apply by contacting the local Family Information Service.
